Day 1: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp

The journey begins at Lemosho Gate, meandering through dense rainforests rich in biodiversity. After approximately 3-4 hours of trekking, you'll reach Mti Mkubwa Camp, nestled among the lush greenery.


Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

The trail continues, gradually transitioning from rainforests to expansive heath and moorland. After trekking for about 4-6 hours, you'll reach Shira 1 Camp, offering captivating views of the Shira Plateau.


Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Moir Hut

The day's trek involves passing through alpine desert landscapes and unique rock formations. Trekking for about 5-7 hours leads to Moir Hut, providing stunning panoramas of the surrounding scenery.


Day 4: Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp

Traversing through diverse terrains, including alpine deserts and lava ridges, characterizes today's hike. After roughly 5-7 hours, you'll reach Buffalo Camp, nestled in a scenic location with sweeping vistas.


Day 5: Buffalo Camp to School Hut

The trail leads across rocky landscapes and scenic ridges. After about 4-6 hours, you'll arrive at School Hut, offering a comfortable setting as a base for the summit attempt.


Day 6: School Hut to the Summit (Uhuru Peak) and descent to Millennium Camp

Starting in the early hours, the summit bid begins, ascending to Stella Point and finally reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Kilimanjaro. After celebrating and relishing the achievement, the descent to Millennium Camp commences for a well-deserved rest

Day 7: Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate

Descending through lush rainforests, the trek culminates at Mweka Gate. The descent, lasting about 4 hours, concludes the exhilarating journey up Mount Kilimanjaro.


Day 8: Departure Day

In the morning after breakfast you will be trekking down to Mweka gate. The trek is a pleasant one through the lower rain-forested slopes and down to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters). Although you cover 9km / 5.5 miles, the trek only takes 3-4 hours. Assuming you successfully reach Stella Point or Uhuru Peak you will be presented with official certificates – a green certificate for the former and a gold certificate for the latter. It is customary to tip your trekking crew before being transported back to your hotel in Moshi
