The journey begins at Lemosho Gate, meandering through dense rainforests rich in biodiversity. After approximately 3-4 hours of trekking, you'll reach Mti Mkubwa Camp, nestled among the lush greenery.
The trail continues, gradually transitioning from rainforests to expansive heath and moorland. After trekking for about 4-6 hours, you'll reach Shira 1 Camp, offering captivating views of the Shira Plateau.
Hiking across the Shira Plateau, the day involves trekking through varying landscapes. After about 4-6 hours, you'll arrive at Shira 2 Camp, offering stunning panoramas and a comfortable campsite.
The trail leads to the Lava Tower for crucial acclimatization before descending to Baranco Camp. This trek, spanning approximately 6-7 hours, culminates with scenic vistas at Baranco Camp beneath the majestic Baranco Wall.
The day begins with an ascent up the Baranco Wall, followed by a descent into the Karanga Valley. After roughly 4 hours of hiking, you'll reach Karanga Camp, situated in a picturesque valley setting.
Continuing the journey, the trail ascends steadily toward Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. The terrain becomes increasingly rocky as you traverse alpine desert landscapes. After roughly 4-5 hours of trekking, you'll rest at Barafu Camp to prepare for the summit push.
Wake at midnight to a light breakfast and then prepare for your summit ascent. The goal is to climb before dawn so that you can reach Uhuru Peak shortly before or after sunrise. The trails is a series of switchbacks up steep scree or possibly snow, and reach Stella Point on the crater rim at 5,861 m/18,640 ft between 4 and 5 AM. At this point you will be having the views of the fabled crater and its glaciers facing you. Then after 1 hour of hiking along the Kibo crater rim near the celebrated snows takes you to Kilimanjaro true summit, Uhuru Peak. Here you will spend some times for taking photo’s but it will depend on how you feel. After your summit activities done, you will descend back to the Barafu campsite, for lunch, rest, collect your equipment, and continue down through moorland and heath zone to Mweka campsite, Dinner and overnight
In the morning after breakfast you will be trekking down to Mweka gate. The trek is a pleasant one through the lower rain-forested slopes and down to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters). Although you cover 9km / 5.5 miles, the trek only takes 3-4 hours. Assuming you successfully reach Stella Point or Uhuru Peak you will be presented with official certificates – a green certificate for the former and a gold certificate for the latter. It is customary to tip your trekking crew before being transported back to your hotel in Moshi
