 4 Days Ngorongoro Highlands Safari – Empakaai Crater, Olmoti Crater & Maasai Culture 

Day 1: Arusha to Ngorongoro Highlands

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. Drive through the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania toward the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Along the way you will enjoy spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Highlands. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge or camp located in the beautiful highland environment surrounded by forests and volcanic mountains.

Day 2: Olmoti Crater Hiking

After breakfast, drive to the starting point for a guided hike to Olmoti Crater.

Accompanied by an armed ranger, enjoy a scenic hike through grassy highlands and Maasai grazing areas. From the crater rim you can admire breathtaking views of the volcanic landscape. The hike continues toward the beautiful Munge Waterfall, which flows into the famous Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 3: Empakaai Crater Trek

Today you will visit the spectacular Empakaai Crater, one of the hidden gems of the Ngorongoro area.

After arriving at the crater rim, begin a guided descent into the crater accompanied by a ranger. At the bottom lies a beautiful alkaline lake that is often home to large flocks of flamingos. The surrounding forest is also home to wildlife such as buffalo, bushbuck, and blue monkeys.

From the rim, enjoy incredible panoramic views of the crater and even distant views toward the Ol Doinyo Lengai, the only active carbonatite volcano in the world.

Day 4: Maasai Cultural Experience – Return to Arusha
