Experience the spectacular Great Migration on a 5-Day Joining Group Safari through northern Tanzania, combining Tarangire National Park, Central Serengeti, Northern Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater.
This safari is designed for travelers who want to maximize their chances of witnessing the Great Migration in Northern Serengeti, while also enjoying some of Tanzania's most famous wildlife destinations. The safari starts and ends in Arusha and is operated as a small international group of 3–7 travelers.
Because the migration is constantly moving, the itinerary and overnight locations may be adjusted according to the current migration location and wildlife conditions. During periods when the herds are concentrated in Northern Serengeti, we may arrange two nights in Northern Serengeti to maximize your wildlife and migration experience.

Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Mto wa Mbu/Karatu
Your safari begins with pickup in Arusha and a drive to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a game drive through the park, famous for its elephants, baobab trees, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife.
After the game drive, continue to Mto wa Mbu or Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Camping in Mto wa Mbu/Karatu
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Day 2: Mto wa Mbu/Karatu – Central Serengeti
After breakfast, drive toward the Serengeti through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continue into Central Serengeti, enjoying wildlife viewing along the way.
The area is known for its rich wildlife population, including lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3: Central Serengeti – Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, continue toward Northern Serengeti, following the best available route based on wildlife and migration movements.
Northern Serengeti is one of the most exciting areas for witnessing the Great Migration, particularly during the migration season when large herds move toward and cross the Mara River area.
Enjoy game viewing en route before reaching your campsite.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti – Ngorongoro
Enjoy a morning game drive in Northern Serengeti, with the possibility of witnessing the migration depending on the season and location of the herds.
Afterward, begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and continue to Simba Campsite for your overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting game drive. The crater is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, and many bird species.
After the crater tour, drive back to Arusha, where your safari ends.

Migration-Focused Flexibility
The Great Migration is a natural wildlife event, so the exact location of the herds cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Our safari team monitors migration movements and wildlife conditions and may adjust the overnight plan when necessary to give you the best possible opportunity to experience the migration.
When the migration is concentrated in Northern Serengeti, the itinerary may include two nights in Northern Serengeti instead of one night in Central Serengeti.
This flexibility allows the safari to follow the wildlife rather than simply following a fixed itinerary.
