5-Day Marangu Route Tour – Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

5-Day Marangu Route Kilimanjaro Climb

Overview

The 5-Day Marangu Route is the shortest and most established route on Mount Kilimanjaro. Often referred to as the "Coca-Cola Route," it is the only route that offers accommodation in mountain huts rather than tents. This route follows the same trail for both ascent and descent, making it a straightforward and comfortable option for climbers.

The Marangu Route passes through beautiful rainforest, heath, moorland, alpine desert, and arctic summit zones before reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters. While the route is considered less physically demanding than some other routes, the shorter itinerary provides less time for acclimatization, making it more challenging from an altitude perspective.
