Northern Circuit Route Itinerary (7 Days)
Day 1 – Londorossi Gate to Shira 1 Camp
Elevation: 2,200m to 3,500m | Hiking time: 4–5 hours
Start at Londorossi Gate, passing through lush rainforest and hiking onto the Shira Plateau. Arrive at Shira 1 Camp for your first overnight stay.
Overnight: Shira 1 Camp
Day 2 – Shira 1 Camp to Moi Hut Camp
Elevation: 3,500m to 3,700m | Hiking time: 4–5 hours
Cross the Shira Plateau and ascend to Moi Hut Camp, surrounded by alpine desert and dramatic mountain views.
Overnight: Moi Hut Camp
Day 3 – Moi Hut Camp to Buffalo Camp
Elevation: 3,700m to 3,950m | Hiking time: 5–6 hours
Climb gradually through highland terrain to Buffalo Camp, enjoying the tranquility of the northern slopes.
Overnight: Buffalo Camp
Day 4 – Buffalo Camp to Third Camp
Elevation: 3,950m to 4,100m | Hiking time: 5–6 hours
Continue through alpine desert to Third Camp, preparing for the ascent toward School Hut.

Ascend to School Hut, the final camp before the summit push. Rest and prepare for the early night departure.

Day 6 – Summit Day: School Hut to Uhuru Peak, then descend to Mweka Camp

Start around midnight for the summit push to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point. After celebrating the summit, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight rest.

Day 7 – Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Elevation: 3,100m to 1,640m | Hiking time: 3–4 hours
Final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate, where climbers receive their summit certificates and transfer to the hotel.
