Northern Circuit Route Itinerary (9 Days)

Day 1 – Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

Elevation: 2,100m to 2,900m | Hiking time: 3–4 hours

Start at Lemosho Gate, trekking through lush rainforest to reach Mti Mkubwa Camp, your first overnight stop.

Overnight: Mti Mkubwa Camp

Day 2 – Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Elevation: 2,900m to 3,500m | Hiking time: 4–5 hours

Climb through the forest and open moorland to reach Shira 1 Camp, situated on the scenic Shira Plateau.

Overnight: Shira 1 Camp

Day 3 – Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Elevation: 3,500m to 3,850m | Hiking time: 4–5 hours

Cross the plateau and hike to Shira 2 Camp, surrounded by alpine desert and breathtaking highland scenery.

Overnight: Shira 2 Camp

Day 4 – Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower, then back to Moir Camp

Begin the summit push around midnight to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating the summit, descend to Horombo Hut for overnight rest.
