Detailed Itinerary

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) – Transfer to Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your Kilimark Adventures representative. Transfer to your mid-range hotel in Moshi for check-in and rest. Your guide will provide a short briefing about the climb and confirm the next day's schedule.

After breakfast, drive from Moshi to Marangu Gate for registration and park formalities. Begin trekking through the beautiful rainforest to Mandara Hut. If time and energy allow, take a short walk toward Maundi Crater before dinner.

Continue through the forest before entering the open heath and moorland zone. Enjoy views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks as you gradually ascend to Horombo Hut.

Spend an extra day at Horombo for acclimatization. Take a gentle hike toward Zebra Rocks or the Mawenzi area, then return to Horombo Hut for rest. This extra night allows more time to adjust to the increasing altitude before continuing higher.

Cross the open alpine desert known as the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. Continue slowly toward Kibo Hut, where you will have an early dinner and rest in preparation for the summit attempt.

Wake around midnight and begin the final ascent. Trek slowly over volcanic scree toward Gilman's Point and continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing to Horombo Hut.

After breakfast, continue your final descent through the moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate. Complete the park formalities and receive your Kilimanjaro certificate before transferring to your Moshi hotel.

Overnight: Moshi hotel

After breakfast, transfer from your Moshi hotel to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home or your next Tanzania adventure.
