Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your comfortable hotel in Moshi. Relax and prepare for your climb. Your guide will provide a pre-trek briefing and equipment check to make sure everything is ready for the mountain.
After breakfast, drive to the Lemosho trailhead. Begin your trek through the beautiful rainforest, where you may see monkeys and enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings. Continue gradually uphill to Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you will spend the night.
Leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland and highland zone. The landscape becomes more open as you cross the Shira Plateau. Walk at a steady pace to allow your body to adjust to the increasing altitude before reaching Shira 2 Camp.
Today you trek toward the spectacular Lava Tower area, reaching approximately 4,630 m before descending to Barranco. This important acclimatization day follows the principle of “climb high, sleep low.” Enjoy dramatic views of the Western Breach and the impressive Barranco Wall before settling into camp.
Start the day by climbing the famous Barranco Wall, with your guide assisting you through the steeper sections. After reaching the top, continue across a series of valleys and ridges toward Karanga Camp, your final acclimatization stop before summit day.
Begin early and trek from Karanga to Barafu Camp, where you rest and prepare for the summit attempt. Around midnight, begin the challenging ascent toward Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
Reach the summit around sunrise, weather and conditions permitting, and enjoy the incredible views from the Roof of Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp for the night
Enjoy your final breakfast on the mountain before descending through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. After completing the park exit procedures and receiving your Kilimanjaro summit certificate, meet your vehicle and transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for a well-earned shower and relaxation.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or your next destination, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
